Nick Sutcliffe

Executive Director

Nick graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Music and Management Studies. He worked as a management consultant for Accenture in London before moving to Houston, Texas to lead Mission Squash.

Passionate about squash from an early age, Nick grew up in Yorkshire, England, where he was a nationally-ranked junior player. After a break from the sport while he pursued his other passion for music, Nick went on to study Music and Management Studies at Cambridge University, earning 4 Full Blues (like All-Americans) for squash. After moving to London to work in management consulting, Nick won two Middlesex County Championships, captained the Men’s County 1st Team, and reached the final of the British Amateur Open, a tournament with a 100-year history.

In 2013 while working in the city, Nick founded and captained the only English Premier League squash team based in central London, leading it to the semi-final stage of the national league in its second year. Nick is currently the only active Professional Squash Association World Tour Player based in Houston, and has competed in over 20 countries. He is a member of the Forbes Nonprofit Council.

Nick believes that the Urban Squash formula has a unique and transformative power to change the lives of Houston’s children, and constantly challenges his Mission Squash Scholars and their peers to reach their fullest potential.
