In August 2019, twelve hard-working Mission Squash scholars had the opportunity to compete in the Lifetime Summer Silver tournament in Houston’s City Center. Scholars played matches against junior players from Texas, Atlanta, Chicago, Ohio, and even Barbados.
Date: August 2-4, 2019
Location: Lifetime Fitness, City Center
Scholars showing exceptional effort, commitment and dedication to their studies during our summer camps were awarded with the opportunity to compete in this U.S. Squash sanctioned Silver Tournament, which welcomed over 100 competitors from Texas, Atlanta, Chicago, Ohio, and as far afield as Barbados.
Scholars participating earned official U.S. Squash ranking points which places them on the national stage alongside junior squash players from all over the country.
Congratulations to our scholars on their hard work and efforts in the tournament. It is a pleasure to see our students thriving in the competitive arena, and doing so with integrity, grace and respect for their opponents, peers and tournament organizers, whether winning or losing.
We would like to thank our Squash and Wellness Fund sponsors Tahir Hafeez, John DiFilippo and Dave Agerton for providing the support necessary for our students to take part in this tournament.
